Why do you want this role?

Every role starts here, and the form asks you to be specific about what makes you a good fit. 600 characters is roughly a hundred words, so lead with the reason that is actually yours and one example that backs it up.

How would you handle a player breaking rules while no senior staff is online?

A scenario in 400 characters. Say what you would do first, which evidence you would keep (screenshots, a clip or chat logs) and how senior staff would hear about it afterwards. Most server rules already list their own consequences, so an answer that follows them beats one that invents punishments.

Previous moderation experience

Optional. The form asks for server names, the roles you held and for how long, and tells you to skip the field if you have none. An empty box is fine. An invented server is not, because lying about your experience gets an application denied on the spot.

Reports, arguments and rule breakers

The Moderator listing does not dress the work up: chat moderation, handling reports and keeping things fair, including with players who think the rules do not apply to them. It also says plainly that the job is not always enjoyable.

Online more than weekends

Moderators need to be around more than just weekends. The availability question offers less than 5 hours a week, 5 to 10, 10 to 20 or more than 20, and an honest smaller range serves you better than a big one you cannot keep.

A calm head, not a track record

No prior experience is needed and the previous moderation experience field can stay empty. The calm head is the part that is required: if three people argue at once and you freeze up, the listing says this role is not for you.

Eight groups of rules to enforce

The server rules run from Chat & Conduct to Discord-specific, and most rules come with their own consequences. Swearing goes from a warning to a 30 minute mute and then a 1 day mute, slurs lead to a ban from the first offense, and a hacked client means a permanent ban.
