- Do not apply if you are mainly looking for rank, status, or command access.
- Staff are expected to stay calm, avoid public arguments, and handle criticism without spiraling.
- Trust is cumulative. Prior bans, trolling, dishonesty, or drama history will matter.
- Helper is a strong starting point if your main strength is communication.
- Moderator requires comfort with reports and consistent enforcement.
- Builder should include a portfolio. Developer and Media should include past work you can link.
- Short answers are fine if they are precise and grounded.
- Empty, padded, or copied answers are easy to spot and usually fail review.
- If you do not have an example, say that directly and explain how you would approach the situation.

The application page shows two lists on the same page as the form: what every applicant must be, and what gets an application denied on the spot. Both are copied here word for word.

What the requirements mean in practice
13 or older, honestly
The form asks for your age as a number, and anyone under 13 is denied straight away. Honesty about your age is on the must-be list and lying about it is on the deny list, so rounding up only makes things worse.
An account is required
Having a Discord account is one of the eight requirements, and the Discord field on the form is required. The confirmation after sending says you will hear back in your email or on Discord, so give a name you check.
English or Dutch
Staff need to communicate in English or Dutch. Write the application in the language you would use with players, since your answers are the first sample of your writing a reviewer sees.
No active bans or mutes
An active ban or mute on the server rules an application out while it runs. Most rules list their consequences, and repeated swearing alone goes from a warning to a 30 minute mute and then a 1 day mute.

Asking for a staff rank in-game or in Discord is on the instant-deny list, and so is applying only because you want the rank. The form is where that request belongs.

AI generated applications are denied straight away. Before sending you confirm that the application is your own work and that lying about your experience or identity means instant rejection.

Common questions about requirements
Is there a minimum playtime to apply?
There is no published minimum playtime. Reviewers do look for a meaningful in-game track record so they can see how you behave in chat and around other players. The more you can show grounded activity, the easier it is to evaluate fit. The requirements on the application do ask that you are active on the server regularly and available for at least a few hours per week.
Do I need to be in the Discord to apply?
You need a Discord account: it is one of the eight requirements on the application, and Discord is a required field on the form. Being active in the Astroworld Discord is not on that list, but it helps, because most staff coordination, ticket triage, and community contact happens around Discord.
How old do you have to be to apply for staff?

Can I use AI to write my staff application?
